EMBO Practical Course : Current Methods in Cell Biology

29 September - 7 October 2011 - EMBL Heidelberg, Germany

April 12, 2011

The Course organizers encourage applications from young cell biologists (advanced graduate students or post-docs) who are keen to broaden their horizons and become exposed to the newest quantitative imaging, biophysical, biochemical, and computational approaches and how these are applied to key questions in biology.

The course will have three major aims :

  • to introduce the participants, via lectures and hands-on practicals, to the methods and technologies used in modern cell biology research
  • to expose participants to a range of scientific topics where cell biology is currently most influential or fields where it is likely to have greatest impact in the future. Seminars by leading expert in different areas of cell biology will give the participants in-depth insights into different model organisms, approaches, and technologies currently used to address exciting scientific questions
  • to learn how to dissect cellular mechanisms across the complete range of biological complexity from single molecules to whole organisms.

Registration is now open. Please register here.

Registration deadline is 24 July 2011 (18:00 CET).

The course is limited to 32 participants. A key criteria for selection is the potential benefit of adding novel cell biological methods to the research plans of the participants.
