Radioactivity competent persons (PCR)

Officers: Françoise HOEGY, Régine JANEL, Renaud WAGNER & Jérôme WAGNER

The IREBS staff members in charge of radiation safety (PCR) have to:

  • assist and advise any person authorized to handle radioactive materials regarding radiation issues and radioprotection
  • ensure correct handling of radionuclides and compliance with the rules for their manipulation
  • ensure the training of any person handling radionuclides

The PCR officers work in close collaboration with:

  • the IREBS PA officers and the CNRS chief-engineer in charge of health and safety for the improvement of working conditions with regard to hygiene and security
  • the prevention physician to ensure that persons handling radionuclides have a particular medical chechup
  • the DGSNR (DRIRE), the competent security authority
  • the concerned safety agencies to organize periodic controls (source locations, handling, measuring and detection devices ...).
